Set up a wall tablet that shows only the family’s chores?

Give the tablet a profile of its own. A profile sees only what you share with it, so the kitchen screen shows the chores and your own projects stay off the wall. This needs the Home Assistant integration, and is easiest on the web app.

1. Open Settings → People and choose Create family account. Pick Offline, name it something like “Kitchen”, and create it. It needs no email and is covered by your subscription.
2. Share the chores with it: open your chores project, choose Share with… and add Kitchen. Everything inside the project comes with it.
3. Switch into Kitchen with Switch on its row in Settings → People.
4. Still as Kitchen, open Settings → Account → API Tokens and choose Create token. Pick Read and write if you want to tick chores off on the tablet. Copy the token now, it is shown only once.
5. In Home Assistant, add the ProgressCove integration and paste the token. It shows a pairing code: back in ProgressCove, choose Pair on the token and type the code in.
6. Switch back to your own account. The tablet keeps showing only what is shared with Kitchen.

Finish a recurring task?

Completing a recurring task always reschedules it to the next occurrence, that’s the point of a repeat. To finish one for good, open it, remove its repeat rule, then mark it complete.
